A dream, a vision, an endeavour to make things better, benefactors and committed individuals – this is the base of Gunjan Foundation.
I dreamt of a society where less fortunate children could strive to have the same opportunities of education and welfare as their fortunate counterparts – committed individuals joined, donors put in their faith and local communities saw the merit and affiliated with us.
We lay special emphasis on free education and social emancipation for the girl child in consonance with the government’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padho’ initiative. Education gives our girls the confidence to break free of traditional roles, to pursue their dreams and grow up to be equal citizens of this country.
Through our Gunjan Foundation Scholarship Fund, it is our endeavour to make sure that at least some of our children can fulfil their dreams of acquiring higher education.
We don’t just claim these things – but open ourselves to internal and external evaluation to make sure we are on track with our goals in a sustainable and meaningful way. Our external monitoring, evaluation and feedback is done by Give India, PSUs, MNCs and other donors monitor our progress by periodically taking updates by onsite visits and detailed documentation and report submission requirements.
Our children have made us so proud with their achievements – from excelling in education, to reaching great private schools, getting accolades in extra-curricular activities and in being well-rounded, empathetic and confident children with a zeal to contribute to society. This combined with a smile on the face of the parents is reward enough for us.
All we ask for is that more and more people join us in this journey to emancipate and uplift all sections of society through holistic education, personality development and more facilitating environment within the family. Through monetary means, volunteering, teaching, creating sensitivity – we can take such initiatives pan India.
I believe in the adage ‘Don’t let success go to your head and in defeat don’t lose your heart.’ Success comes to those who strive to achieve their goals through hard work. Dream big and you will achieve your dreams through hard work. Don’t let hurdles dishearten and success spoil you.
Last but not the least, words may not do justice to us while we thank all our supporters for their philanthropic gestures and help in fulfilling our aim and mission.
